✅$9.6 Million Recovered for Philadelphians in 2025; I Voted NO ❌on More ICE/CBP Funding
$9.6 Million Recovered for Philadelphians in 2025 Last week, I released my State of the District report covering 2025. One of the accomplishments I’m proud to announce is the total of $9.6 million my office returned to or saved for constituents last year in cases involving federal agencies such as the IRS, Social Security Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs. The 2025 figure brings the total to more than $55.1 million returned to or saved for constituents during my time in Congress. Click here to request help with a federal agency. Let’s Use ICE/CBP Fund for Housing Instead A law passed last week limits new funding for the Department of Homeland Security to two weeks as negotiations take place, but that limit was not enough for me. I voted No. After over a year of empty promises, I believe we cannot trust promises of reform from the Trump-Vance administration. I first need to see much-needed guardrails and protections being put into law. You can click here for my full statement on the legislation. And I want to go further – I’m an original co-sponsor of legislation that would redirect the $175 billion ICE and CBP fund Trump created in his “Big Beautiful Bill.” It would reinvest those billions directly into proven solutions that would reduce rents, expand homeownership, and incentivize the building of housing that’s affordable across the country.
