Update from Washington; Virtual Fair for Philly Students & Families

E-Newsletter

As you may have seen in the news, today the House and Senate are meeting in joint session to count the electoral votes for president and vice president. I invite you to follow my Facebook and Twitter pages for updates as that session proceeds. I would also like you to know that I'm co-sponsoring a resolution that would censure the current president for his recent call to the Georgia secretary of state seeking to overturn the results of the presidential election in that state. I voted multiple times in favor of impeaching President Trump and I stand by those votes.

Closer to home, I want to make sure that Philadelphia students and their families are aware of a 3-part virtual National Service Opportunities Fair my office is hosting that starts this Saturday. Students and families who pre-register for a session will have the added opportunity to participate in a Q&A segment with the experts in that session. The sessions will be held on Facebook and should be viewable whether or not you have a Facebook account.

The events are on consecutive Saturdays, scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. You can click the link for each event for more information and to pre-register:

If you're unable to attend a session but would like information on the opportunities that will be discussed that day, you can request information by clicking here.

Staying informed: To keep up with information and services between these updates, I invite you to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – including updates on my Facebook and Instagram Stories. If you received this newsletter as a forward, click here to start receiving it straight to your own inbox.

Sincerely,
