Housing
I am a firm believer that housing is an essential human right! Everyone deserves access to safe, accessible, affordable housing. And building this housing and keeping other housing in good condition is key to creating and maintaining livable communities.
I know that our city, our commonwealth, and much of our nation currently have an affordable housing crisis. Addressing this crisis involves significant investments in our housing infrastructure and expanding fair housing protections. As a member of the influential tax-writing Ways and Means Committee, I am continuously advocating for expansions of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.
In Congress, I am also fighting to deliver critical housing investments back into our community. I have secured funding for local projects throughout the Third District, including ones to build housing units that serve severely underserved women and elderly veterans, increase affordable housing for low-income seniors, and create critically needed affordable homeownership options for Philadelphians who otherwise could not purchase their homes.
