Science is clear: climate change is real and poses a present danger that threatens the health of our communities, our infrastructure, and our economy. And these threats disproportionately impact low-income communities and communities of color, including in Philadelphia.
I was proud to vote for President Biden’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and Inflation Reduction Act, a landmark clean-energy and health care law. These historic pieces of legislation have provided billions in funding to the Philadelphia region. From upgrading our water system to repairing our roads and bridges to expanding our electric-vehicle charging infrastructure, this funding continues delivering for communities across Philly!
Faced with an administration that is trying to move us backwards, I’m fighting in Congress to protect and build on this progress, working to create a cleaner, greener Philadelphia for generations to come.

WASHINGTON (Jan. 14, 2024) – U.S. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA); U.S. Reps. Dwight Evans (D-PA-3), Brendan Boyle (D-PA-2) and Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA-5); and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker today announced over $11 million in federal funding for the Philadelphia Community Charging Project Regional Partnership.
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd), Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker today announced nearly $37 million in federal funding for the city for two projects.
The U.S. Department of Transportation will provide $23.3 million to the city for Reaching the Steps: Transforming Philadelphia's Eakins Oval and $13,694,932 for Connecting Philadelphia's Schuylkill River Trail from Manayunk to Passyunk.
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and John Fetterman (D-PA), U.S. Representatives Dwight Evans (D-PA 3), and Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA-5) and Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker announced a total of $8,984,800 in funding to bring electric vehicle (EV) chargers to underserved neighborhoods in Philadelphia and to the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The funding is from the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Grant Program, made possible by the infrastructure law.
Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and John Fetterman (D-PA) and U.S. Representatives Dwight Evans (D-PA-3), Madeleine Dean (D-PA-4), and Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA-6) delivered $37,543,000 from the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act to make Pennsylvania’s drinking water safer and cleaner. The funding from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will remove contaminants—like Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) from drinking water in Pennsylvania communities hit hard by these ‘forever chemicals.’
WASHINGTON (March 8, 2024) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) announced he has secured more than $13.3 million in federal funding for 15 Philadelphia community projects. The funding is provided in an appropriations bill that has passed the House of Representatives and is expected to pass the Senate and be signed into law by President Biden.

I was proud to vote for the historic Inflation Reduction Act, which President Biden signed into law one year ago this week. This law is providing savings on both health care and clean energy, creating jobs in the United States, and represents the largest investment Congress has ever made in clean energy and fighting climate change.

PHILADELPHIA (May 12, 2023) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) has introduced his innovative school-repair bill, which would make it easier for school districts to use the current federal historic rehabilitation tax credit to upgrade historic school buildings that will continue to operate as schools after renovation.
