Congressman Evans to Keynote Two ‘Conversation with Your Congressman’ Events in Philadelphia to Celebrate Legacy of MLK

January 12, 2018

This weekend, to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King Martin Luther King Jr. and his lasting impact on our neighborhoods Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-02) will keynote two ‘Conversation with Your Congressman' events to highlight how the GOP Tax Scam runs counter to the society we want to live in.

"Dr. King once said, ‘of all forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane.' I find these words and Dr. King's teachings to have such a profound meaning in the current political climate we face. When we think about the GOP Tax Scam and what this means for the continued viability of our neighborhoods we must ask ourselves a simple question, ‘what kind of society do we want to live in?' If we want to live in a society where we are our brother's and sister's keeper, we must do all we can to lift up our neighbors, support our family and friends, and care for our earth and the people around us. The GOP Tax Scam runs counter to the society we want to live in. I hope you will join me this weekend for an important dialogue about how the power of our voices and actions will create the change we desire," Congressman Evans said.
