Congressman Evans Statement on Shooting at GOP Congressional Baseball practice

As you know this morning a shooting took place during a practice for the Republican Congressional Baseball Team. At this time we have learned that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, two Capitol Police Officers and a congressional aide were shot and inquired during the attack. We will keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers today and hope for a quick and strong recovery for everyone injured. I am very glad to hear there were Capitol Police Officers at the practice this morning who were able to prevent the attack from being much worse. We thank them for their bravery and for their continued efforts to keep us out of harm's way every day.
