$7.4 Million for 8 Philly Projects

I’m pleased to announce that I secured $7.4 million for eight community projects in the 3rd Congressional District in a recently passed federal funding package. Bringing federal funding home for Philadelphians has always been one of my priorities in Congress, and I’ll keep pursuing more funding for our communities.

The federal funding is designated for these projects:

  • Ana Blakiston Day School - schoolyard improvements and equipment upgrades - $717,593
  • James G. Blaine School - schoolyard improvements - $850,000
  • Richard R. Wright Elementary School - schoolyard improvements, infrastructure, upgrades, and equipment - $850,000
  • Build-out of the Temple University Public Health Simulation Center - $1,031,000
  • Community College of Philadelphia - housing development and renovations - $850,000
  • Temple University’s Community Kitchen - $1,500,000
  • EMIR (Every Murder Is Real) Healing Center - meeting space for community events to foster healing and wholeness - $1,031,000
  • Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology - lipid nanoparticle manufacturing equipment - $619,000

State of the District

I recently released my State of the District report covering 2025. One of the accomplishments I’m proud to announce is the total of $9.6 million my office returned to or saved for constituents last year in cases involving federal agencies such as the IRS, Social Security Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs. Or watch a short video about the report.

Here to help

From issues with passports, immigration, the Postal Service, IRS, and Social Security to the Department of Veterans Affairs – my offices are here to help.

You can contact my offices at 215-276-0340 (Northwest Philadelphia) or 215-254-3400 (Point Breeze) or fill out this form that legally authorizes us to look into your case. It’s important to note that backlogs from the fall shutdown may cause delays in federal agencies’ ability to respond to my office for some time.
