đź’µAutomatic Stimulus Payments; đź’ŠNew CAP on Medicare Drug Costs

I have good news for people who missed out on one or more of the 2021 Economic Impact Payments (EIP), also known as stimulus payments. The IRS announced it will issue automatic payments of up to $1,400 later this month to about 1 million eligible people who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax returns.

If you qualify and already filed a 2021 federal tax return, you should not need to do anything else. Taxpayers who haven’t filed 2021 tax returns might be eligible as well, but they face an April 15, 2025, deadline to file their returns to claim the credit and any other refund they might be owed. Click here to learn more!

More good news!

Because of a law I voted for, Medicare beneficiaries’ Part D (prescription drug benefit) out-of-pocket costs are now CAPPED at $2,000 per year in 2025. They’ll also have the option to pay out-of-pocket costs in monthly amounts over the plan year, instead of when they happen.

This is because of President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, which has already capped the cost of insulin for Medicare beneficiaries at $35 per month. I agree with President Biden that Congress should extend the insulin cost protection to ALL Americans.

In the new Congress that opened last week, I will fight to defend progress like this, as well as the Affordable Care Act’s protections for pre-existing health conditions and other important protections for you. I will not settle for President-elect Trump’s vague â€śconcepts of a plan” for your health care (click here for a short video).
