Alternatives as Trump closes a LGBTQ+ crisis/suicide prevention option

While the Trump administration is ending one way to access crisis and suicide prevention help for LGBTQ+ young people, help is still available from sources like the Trevor Project (open 24/7; 866-488-7386, text 678678 or chat at this link) and the LGBT National Hotline (888-843-4564; hours listed at this link). I consider the Trump administration’s action to be shameful – you can learn more about it from this KYW Newsradio story.

More cuts from Republicans in Congress

After midnight on July 18, while most of America was sleeping, the House Republican majority slashed funding for PBS, NPR, and local TV and radio stations, and life-saving global health programs and peacekeeping efforts, rubber-stamping DOGE cuts that I believe are illegal. These cuts even include eliminating the U.S. contribution for UNICEF, which is currently serving millions of kids surviving conflict and extreme poverty.

It’s shameful. I believe Congress should be fighting for the needs of everyday Americans, not protecting the interests of billionaires by implementing Project 2025. You can read more details about this latest package of cuts by clicking here. This comes on top of the cuts to Medical Assistance and SNAP food aid in Trump’s “big, beautiful” bill. I voted NO on both of those bills!
