After the U.S. Supreme Court struck down one of President Trump’s main tariff-taxes, there have been news reports about small businesses having difficulty getting refunds for their share of that $166 billion the Trump-Vance administration collected.

If you own or manage a small business in Philadelphia and are having trouble receiving a tariff refund, I want to hear from you. I serve on the House committee that oversees trade as well as tariffs and other taxes. If you’re looking for the Customs and Border Patrol website for seeking a refund, click here. And to share your story with my office, click here.

This Friday: Senior Resource and Wellness Fair!

I will hold my annual Senior Resource and Wellness Fair this Friday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Center in the Park, 5818 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, 19144. It's a great opportunity to get valuable information and resources from local, state-wide, and national organizations! For more information, call my office at (215) 276-0340.

Proud to welcome new health imaging center

Working with Congressman Brendan Boyle, I secured $3 million in federal Community Project Funding in 2022 for the Black Doctors Covid-19 Consortium to help operate the Dr. Ala Stanford Center for Health Equity on West Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia. I was pleased to return late last month for the groundbreaking for their imaging center that will expand access to X-rays, mammography, CT scans, and ultrasounds.

As we see continued attacks on our health care system at the national level, centers like this are doing critical work on the ground to keep our community healthy.
