ICE Knocking? Know Your Rights; Low-Income Property Tax FREEZE; Health Insurance Denials

My offices have heard from many constituents this week about the Trump administration’s “funding freeze,” which I oppose and believe to be unconstitutional. I remain concerned that this radical act will endanger vital services that so many Americans rely on such as Medicaid, SNAP, Meals on Wheels, Head Start, and veterans’ services.

I’m pleased that a federal judge temporarily blocked the freeze. The Trump administration has put out conflicting information. I will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with House Democratic leadership to fight what I believe is an abuse of power by Trump. For updates on this and other federal issues, I invite you to follow my social media pages on YoutubeFacebookTwitterInstagramThreads and Bluesky.

Know Your Rights: In light of the Trump administration’s push for immigration raids, I want Philadelphians to know your rights if ICE agents come knocking. Click here to learn more!

Deadline Extended: The city of Philadelphia has extended the deadline to Feb. 28 for homeowners to apply for the Low-income Real Estate Tax Freeze program. Click here for more information!

Reversing Health Insurance Denials

As I work to protect the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) from Trump administration efforts to partially or fully repeal it, I have good news for people who have had a treatment, medication or service denied by their health insurance. You may be able to use a Pennsylvania program created by the Shapiro-Davis administration in Harrisburg that has been successful in overturning decisions and reinstating coverage in about half of all cases. Click here to learn more about this program!

My office can help with federal issues. Federal concerns and agencies that my offices can help with include passports, immigration, the Postal Service, IRS, Social Security and the Department of Veterans Affairs. You can contact my offices at 215-276-0340 (Northwest Philadelphia) or 215-254-3400 (Point Breeze) or fill out this form that legally authorizes us to look into your case.
