I’m retiring (in 2027); My offices remain OPEN to serve you!
You may have seen a news report that I’ve announced I will retire from Congress. So I want to be clear:
- I am serving out the rest of my term, which ends Jan. 3, 2027; and
- My offices in Philadelphia and Washington are remaining OPEN to serve you!
Serving the people of Philadelphia has been the honor of my life. And I remain in good health and fully capable of continuing to serve. You can read my full statement by clicking here.
As I continue my service in Congress, the House may vote as soon as this week on the Trump "Reverse Robin Hood" bill that would give the richest another tax cut and cut Medicaid and SNAP food aid.I voted “No” on it when the House initially passed it, and I will vote “No” again if it returns from the Senate!
The more I learn about this bill, the worse it sounds. For example, a report released Friday says 567 nursing homes will be at higher risk of closing if the bill’s Medicaid cuts become law – including Inglis House in Philadelphia and Cheltenham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Montgomery County, among 16 nursing homes in Pennsylvania and nine in New Jersey.
The final vote in the Senate could happen today or tomorrow. If you’re interested in voicing your opinion to your two U.S. senators, you can find their contact information here.
My office can help with federal issues. Federal concerns and agencies that my offices can help with include passports, immigration, the Postal Service, IRS, Social Security and the Department of Veterans Affairs. You can contact my offices at 215-276-0340 (Northwest Philadelphia) or 215-254-3400 (Point Breeze) or fill out this form that legally authorizes us to look into your case.
Last year, my offices helped constituents save or have returned to them $4.5 MILLION from federal agencies. So if you have a concern involving a federal agency, I invite you to get in touch!
