Reporting Dumped Mail
I understand the importance of addressing the issue of dumped mail swiftly and effectively. To take immediate action and retrieve the mail as quickly as possible, I urge you to report any instances of dumped mail directly to my office and the Postal Service without delay.
What to do if you observe dumped mail:
- Note the details: Record the date, time, and exact location where the mail was observed.
- Report it immediately:
● Call my office at 215-276-0340
● Call the Postal Service at 1-888-USPS-OIG or file an online complaint by clicking here.
With urgent reporting, we can act quickly to retrieve the mail before it disappears. In recent cases, delays in reporting have resulted in the mail no longer being at the dumped location by the time we were notified. Your prompt action can make a significant difference. Thank you for your cooperation.
To report other mail issues, such as missing mail or problems with delivery, please call my office at 215-276-0340 or use this form to report these types of problems to my office.
Protect SNAP Benefits from Illegal Card Skimmers
The Federal Trade Commission has issued a warning: Thieves sometimes put illegal card “skimmer” devices on payment terminals in stores to steal card information and people’s benefits. But there are ways to avoid these scams: For example, before you swipe your EBT or other card, pay attention to the card reader. Is it loose, off-center, or do parts of it wiggle? If so, don’t put your card there. Report it to the store manager and consider shopping elsewhere.
Another important tip: State agencies and EBT processors will never call or text you to ask for your PIN or card number. Anyone who does is a scammer. For more information and other ways to avoid these scams, click here!
