Congressman Evans Announces 2017 Congressional App Challenge
Today Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-02) is delighted to announce that the 2nd Congressional District of Pennsylvania will be participating in the 2017 Congressional App Challenge.
The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a competition aimed at encouraging high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications. The App Challenge is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education.
“A solid STEM education is critical for the success of our students in the 21st century economy,” Congressman Evans said. “The Congressional App Challenge provides a unique opportunity for our students to take an issue facing our neighborhoods and use their coding and computer skills to create and develop a solution to this problem. I am pleased to announce my office is participating in this year’s Congressional App Challenge and I am so looking forward to reviewing the apps our students in the Second Congressional District create.”
