117th Congress
While there may be disagreement about the causes of the recent increase in gun violence, the most important task is to fight this fire with every tool we have. We need every level of government — federal, state and local — to help, and we also need the community to get more involved. First, here are some of the key actions I have taken as your U.S. representative:
Because of federal funding I voted for, the Covid-19 vaccine is FREE to patients. If you get a bill for it, you should report it to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department at this link or by calling toll-free: 1-877-881-6388.
PHILADELPHIA (Aug. 3, 2021) – The office of U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) will hold monthly mobile service hours at the North Philadelphia office of state Sen. Sharif Street (D-3rd).
The monthly mobile service hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at Street's office at 1621 W. Jefferson St., Philadelphia, 19121, on the following dates: Aug. 4, Sept. 1, Oct. 6 and Nov. 3.
PHILADELPHIA (July 16, 2021) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) announced he has secured nearly $6.3 million in federal funding for eight Philadelphia community projects in annual spending bills that are moving forward in the House of Representatives.
PHILADELPHIA (July 12, 2021) – Members of Congress from Philadelphia and Wilmington, Del.; jointly visited highway-divided neighborhoods in their respective cities today to highlight the $3 billion Reconnecting Communities bill recently passed by the House of Representatives that could help those neighborhoods.
WASHINGTON (July 1, 2021) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd), Pennsylvania's only African American member of Congress, issued the following statement today:
"The Supreme Court's decision to let states have wide rein to attack voting rights is garbage. It is clear to anyone who is paying attention that the court will keep on gutting the Voting Rights Act, and that its 2013 Shelby County decision was just the start. The court also sided today against public disclosure of big ‘dark money' that floods our politics – another disgrace.
WASHINGTON (June 10, 2021) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) announced that his requests for $19.6 million in federal funding for seven Philadelphia transportation projects have advanced to the full House of Representatives.
Evans' requests are included in a bill that the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee approved today.
PHILADELPHIA (May 12, 2021) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) announced he has submitted 17 community project and transportation member-directed project requests for the 3rd District.
