I wanted to share with you that my amendment was passed in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This is especially timely as my amendment would require the President to send a report to Congress about ANY cooperation between the U.S. and Russia in Syria.

Washington, D.C. -- Last week, I had the opportunity to go on an extremely informative, encouraging and enlightening trip to both Israel and Jordan. While in Israel I spoke with policy makers, elected officials, and residents to hear their stories and learn more about their experiences. For me it's always all about people. Talking to people is the only way to learn about their needs and figure out solutions.

As you know this morning a shooting took place during a practice for the Republican Congressional Baseball Team. At this time we have learned that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, two Capitol Police Officers and a congressional aide were shot and inquired during the attack. We will keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers today and hope for a quick and strong recovery for everyone injured. I am very glad to hear there were Capitol Police Officers at the practice this morning who were able to prevent the attack from being much worse.
