What is The Congressional App Challenge (CAC)?
The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their district.
Today, U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) and U.S. Representative Steve Chabot (R-OH), chairmen of the Senate and House Small Business Committees, introduced bipartisan, bicameral legislation to improve cybersecurity resources for small businesses. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Cyber Training Act will be a priority in each respective committee. Senators Gary Peters (D-MI), John Kennedy (R-LA), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Representative Dwight Evans (D-PA) are original cosponsors of the bill.
Congressmen Dwight Evans (D-PA) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) released a joint statement following Wednesday's shooting encouraging members to come together:
Today, I voted NO on H.R. 10, the Choice Act, legislation that would dramatically weaken and even repeal many key provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. I want to share with you why after careful consideration I came to this decision.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 25, 2017) –Today, Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-02) introduced the Small Business Innovation Protection Act of 2017 to provide our small business owners and entrepreneurs with the resources they need to be successful in the 21st century economy.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 24, 2017) – Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-02) released the following statement today after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released their updated analysis on the Republican American Health Care Act (AHCA).
On May 4, 2017 under Republican leadership the AHCA passed the House of Representatives. Today, twenty days after this disastrous bill passed the House the CBO has officially released their overview of how many people stand to lose coverage and quality of care under the AHCA.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 23, 2017) – Today, Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-02) released the following statement on how President Trump's Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Request is another attempt by the Administration to cut resources that America's Middle Neighborhoods rely on to remain competitive.
"The President talks about putting country first yet his budget does no such thing," Congressman Evans said. "There is a big difference between campaigning and governing. It's time for the Trump Administration to demonstrate they know how to govern. We have yet to see them do so."
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-02) hosted a congressional briefing in D.C. to bring together a group of stakeholders who are working on the city, state and federal level to put policies in place that help strengthen our Middle Neighborhoods.
Middle Neighborhoods are neighborhoods caught between bust and boom. They are neighborhoods where housing is stable enough and homebuyers are willing to test the odds in the hopes that these neighborhoods will tilt towards growth rather than tip towards decline.
Today I proudly voted NO on the Thin Blue Line Act (H.R. 115). This bill would expand the number of provoking factors for implementing the death penalty in three key ways: 1) it is duplicative, 2) it runs counter to reconciliation efforts between law enforcement and our communities, and 3) it will not deter the behavior it attempts to confront.
