PHILADELPHIA (Dec. 17, 2019) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) said the bipartisan budget deal the House passed today would make real progress in several areas and avoid a new government shutdown if President Trump signs it into law.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressmen Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) and Dwight Evans (PA-03) today applauded the awarding of a $12.5 million federal grant to the Franklin Square Station Reopening Project. The Franklin Square Station was shuttered in 1979 and has been off limits to the public ever since. The grant will revitalize and reopen the long dormant rail station and bring it into compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 31, 2019) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd) today voted "YES" for rules for the impeachment inquiry into President Trump's conduct in office. Evans said the successful House vote will let the American people see evidence and testimony from the investigation.
PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 23, 2019) – Congressman Dwight Evans (D-PA-3rd), will host his third annual National Service Opportunity Fair on Saturday. The unique event is intended to introduce middle and high school students and college freshmen to rewarding careers in American service.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at Temple University - Liacouras Hall, 1776 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, 19121. Students will be able to meet representatives from:
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and Rep. Dwight Evans (D-Penn.), introduced the Restoring Access Through Identification Act to ensure people who are released from prison would be able to obtain proper state ID cards by requiring the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to cover the costs associated with obtaining identification cards. Covering the cost of obtaining a state-issued ID prior to release helps remove some of the barriers to reintegrating back into the community.
WASHINGTON (Oct. 21, 2019) – The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted late Thursday to pass the Helping Seniors Afford Health Care Act, H.R. 4671. The bill now goes to the full House for final passage.
WASHINGTON (Oct. 15, 2019) – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03), Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-03) and Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) introduced the Helping Seniors Afford Health Care Act, H.R. 4671, a bill that would increase access to affordable health care for senior citizens.
WASHINGTON (Sept. 25, 2019) – Congressmen Dwight Evans (PA-03) and Ron Estes (R-Kansas) introduced bipartisan legislation this week to address a critical shortage of certified nursing assistants (CNAs). Evans and Estes serve together on the influential House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees much of the U.S. health care system.
