Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and Rep. Dwight Evans (D-Penn.), introduced the Restoring Access Through Identification Act to ensure people who are released from prison would be able to obtain proper state ID cards by requiring the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to cover the costs associated with obtaining identification cards. Covering the cost of obtaining a state-issued ID prior to release helps remove some of the barriers to reintegrating back into the community.
WASHINGTON (Oct. 21, 2019) – The House Energy and Commerce Committee voted late Thursday to pass the Helping Seniors Afford Health Care Act, H.R. 4671. The bill now goes to the full House for final passage.
WASHINGTON (Oct. 15, 2019) – Today, Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03), Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-03) and Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) introduced the Helping Seniors Afford Health Care Act, H.R. 4671, a bill that would increase access to affordable health care for senior citizens.
WASHINGTON (Sept. 25, 2019) – Congressmen Dwight Evans (PA-03) and Ron Estes (R-Kansas) introduced bipartisan legislation this week to address a critical shortage of certified nursing assistants (CNAs). WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) and Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-3) reintroduced the No Funding for Confederate Symbols Act, legislation that would prohibit Federal funds from being used to create, maintain, or display, as applicable, any Confederate symbol on Federal public land, including any highway, park, subway, Federal building, military base, street, or other Federal property.
WASHINGTON (July 25, 2019) – Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-03) voted today for a bipartisan budget deal that will help to deliver more federal funding for Philadelphia and domestic programs in general. The agreement will also prevent the massive economic damage of a potential debt-limit default for two years.
WASHINGTON (July 24, 2019) – Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-03) said the House of Representatives is poised to pass a bill today that would protect the pensions of 1.3 million workers and retirees, including thousands of current and retired Acme workers in the Philadelphia region.

WASHINGTON (July 18, 2019) – Congressman Dwight Evans (PA-03) voted today to raise the national minimum wage from the current $7.25 per hour to $15 by 2024. The Raise the Wage Act would raise pay for 1.475 million Pennsylvania workers, about 25 percent of the state's workforce. About 209,000 African American workers and 176,000 Hispanic workers in Pennsylvania would benefit.
